Hi!! My name is Trisha Pumphrey. This is my 24th year of teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade.
I teach 1st grade at Cottondale Elementary School. I could not be happier to finally be "home" at the BEST school with the most amazing students, faculty, and community. |
I love to see the progress the students have made since the
beginning of the year. I also love to see the excitement on their faces when they grasp a new skill. There is absolutely nothing more rewarding than to have a student hug you and say they love you. There are no words that can describe that feeling. I truly enjoy my job and believe there is no other place that I would rather be than teaching young children. |
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My
husband, Tony and I have an 19 year-old son named Logan who is a freshman this year at Chipola College. We also have an 11 year old named Landon who is in 6th Grade at C.H.S. We attend First Assembly of God Church in Cottondale where my husband and I serve as Kids' Church leaders. I was named 2009 Kate M. Smith Elementary School's Teacher of the Year, as well as 2000 Grand Ridge School's Teacher of the Year. I was named 2018 Cottondale Elementary Teacher of the Year and also Jackson County Teacher of the Year for 2018-19. |
I received my reading endorsement in May 2007 and my ESOL
certification in September 2008. In my spare time, you can find me at the local ball-fields and gyms supporting our awesome Hornets in every sport!! GO HORNETS!!!!
