Hi!! My name is Trisha Pumphrey.
I have taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade.
I teach 1st grade at Cottondale Elementary School.
I could not be happier to finally be "home" at the BEST school with the most amazing students, faculty, and community.
I love to see the progress the students have made since the
beginning of the year. I also love to see the excitement on their
faces when they grasp a new skill. There is absolutely nothing more
rewarding than to have a student hug you and say they love you.
There are no words that can describe that feeling. I truly enjoy my
job and believe there is no other place that I would rather be than
teaching young children.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My
husband, Tony and I have a 16 year-old son named Logan who is a sophomore this year at Cottondale High School. We also have an 8 year old named Landon who is in Mrs. Hales' 3rd Grade Class here at C.E.S. We attend First Assembly of God Church in Cottondale where my husband and I serve as Youth leaders.  I was named 2009 Kate M. Smith Elementary School's Teacher of the Year, as well as 2000 Grand Ridge School's Teacher of the Year.  I was named 2018 Cottondale Elementary Teacher of the Year and also Jackson County Teacher of the Year for 2018-19.
I received my reading endorsement in May 2007 and my ESOL
certification in September 2008. In my spare time, you can find at the local ball-fields and gyms supporting our awesome Hornets in every sport!!
GO HORNETS!!!!
